Fresh Air Fund In Need of Host Families

The Fresh Air Fund has provided free summer vacations to New York City children from disadvantaged communities since 1877. The end of July is growing closer and they still have 200 children who need to be placed with host families for this August.

Unless all prospective host families are screened and vetted by the end of July these 200 children may miss out on an invaluable experience. They are really in need of families who want to extend an invitation to a 9-12 year old, especially boys.

To host a child or help get the word out, click here, call 1-800-367-0003, or email the addresses found on the website.

Bummer :( They don't come to North Carolina because I would totally do this! It is such a wonderful program and I hope you get some people in those areas to volunteer! I think I'll post about it as well - just to spread the word a bit.

Thanks, Erin! The more people spreading the word the better. It's definitely a worthy cause!
